About South Warwickshire Carers

South Warwickshire Carers' Support Service (SWCSS) was founded in 1984 and is now an established provider of support to Adult and Young Carers in South Warwickshire.

SWCSS offers emotional support, information, advice, advocacy, and assistance to those providing unpaid care for a relative, friend or other person who is disabled, frail, has a long-term illness or who may have a dependence on drugs or alcohol.

We work with Carers from the age of 8 upwards, and have successfully managed an active Young Carers’ Project over the past five years. Over this same period SWCSS has widened its reach into the Primary Care sector in addition to the appointment of specialist Advisors for Carers from black & minority ethnic communities, Carers of sick and disabled children and Carers of people with a learning disability. SWCSS strives to raise public awareness of all Carers in South Warwickshire, encouraging a wider recognition of their contribution to society, whilst also providing them with information and support which will assist them in their caring roles and enable them to fulfil their own needs as individuals.
