Services


SWCSS provides a range of services to Carers living in South Warwickshire.  We can assess your individual needs by telephone or home visit.  Our Service offers the following:-

 

Information - The Service has many resources and, following your contact with us, we will provide you with specific information best suited to your needs.

 

Benefits Advice - SWCSS have up-to-date information about what benefits may be available to you and to the person for whom you care and can assist you with completing the forms.

 

Emotional Support – Our experienced Carers' Advisers can listen and advise either on the telephone or can arrange a visit to you in your own home or at a place convenient to you to discuss your individual needs.

 

Advocacy - By listening and understanding we will work with Carers to empower and support them in their endeavours to find the best possible outcome to their situation.

 

Training for Carers - SWCSS provide workshops and training for Carers. These have included Basic First Aid, Manual Handling, Managing Stress, Assertiveness and Communication Techniques. We also provide pampering days, art therapy, flower arranging and other creative ways to combat stress.

 

Newsletter – SWCSS produces a quarterly newsletter. We encourage Carers to contribute articles to the newsletter that may be of interest to other Carers.  

 

Support Groups – SWCSS run a number of Carers’ support groups.  The groups enable Carers to meet other Carers, share information, listen to guest speakers, chat, have fun and perhaps even let off steam!  Refreshments are available free of charge.

 

Helpline – The Carers Helpline, 01926 485486, is available 9.00-4.30, Monday to Friday with an answer phone facility at all other times.
